1981-82

The infamous "long pants" were introduced by the Flyers in the 1981-82 season
Also known as Cooperalls, there were two versions of these pants. The 1981-82 season's version had an orange with write trimmed stripe running along each leg. And they actually weren't "Cooperalls" for the first version - they were "CCM Pro Pacs".
Additionally there was another change in the jersey. The bottom stripe was removed. For the home jersey, it was removed at the beginning of the season. For the road jersey, it was removed in late Oct/early Nov. For some jerseys, they were made to this specifications. For other jerseys, they simply cut the jersey above the striped and hemmed them.
Below is a picture of Bill Barber in the first style of Cooperalls, in a road jersey with the stripe still remaining.
